According to figures released by the State Department of Labor last week, the Capital Region remains one of the fastest growing metro areas in the State for private-sector job growth. The region gained a net 5,200 private-sector jobs, an increase of 1.5 percent from July 2013. The figures released also showed that New York State has now had 20 straight months of private-sector job growth, and that the state’s jobless rate remained at its lowest level in 5 ½ years.
